Goals give us direction. Without direction, we are not expecting results. Without results our self-esteem is like a roller coaster. One day we are doing well, and then the next life seems out of control. Goals give us direction, but they also give us something to hold onto to weather life’s storms. I would go as far to say that when we have goals, we have hope and a future. Regardless of how big or small your goals, you can practice setting some goals and see for yourself how better you feel knowing you are working toward accomplishing something meaningful in your life.

What do you want in life

Not sure how to create a goal? First, ask yourself what you are not happy about in your life. Do you need a better vehicle, or just carpet or hardwood floors? Is there somewhere you would like to spend a few days to relax and unwind? Goals come in a variety of shape and sizes. I remember when I first thought about making a presence online. I knew I would need something to offer readers or visitors to my website. I was unhappy with my finances at the time, and I was not working. My sleep schedule was out of whack and for the most part living each day as it came. I got the idea to make out a schedule to wake up and go to work each day.

I set how many hours to work each day. I had a room downstairs I made my work area, and I got to my desk at 7am each day. This worked for about a week. I knew I needed something to do once I got to work. Needless to say, the first week I would arrive at my desk, and then go off and do something around the house. I knew how to sew and I made my own potholders. They were simple so I decided to make potholders once I got to work each day. Then I knew to set how many I would make each day. Look, I was at my bottom, but this one goal to go to work each day pulled me up! What do you want to accomplish in the immediate world? Make sure it is somewhat challenging and something that has some length of time to it. The goal is to have a set goal each day that you need to accomplish and then go for it!

It amazes me when I think how far I come since I decided to pretend to go to work at 7am each day.
